It is a member of the NCAA, Empire 8, Eastern College Athletic Conference, and the New York State Women’s Collegiate Athletic Association.

Every year, Utica College helps out students from poor financial backgrounds by offering a number of scholarships including endowed grants, direct aid from the college, and annual awards.

Utica College is located in the heart of central New York.  It is an independent college that provide various liberal arts and career majors for undergraduates as well as a number of masters’ degree programs.

The college was founded by Syracuse University in 1941 and became independently accredited in 1995.  It was originally located in downtown Utica but moved to its current location in the western area of the city in 1961.

The college had 2,429 undergraduate students and 523 graduates enrolled in the fall of 2006.  There are over 20,000 Utica College Alumni.
